Registration notes: Designed by Thomas Martin Stanners who, with his wife Nancy Stanners, left Bo'ness and emigrated to Australia with their three young children in 1963 on the 10 GBP Scheme. The tartan is to remind their Australian family of their heritage, culture and duty they have to uphold the proud family tradition of their Scottish ancestors. The family can be traced back over 300 years to 1706. They lived in Grangepans in the parish of Carriden, Borrowstounness, in what was the county of Linlithgowshire Scotland. Some of the descendants still live in the area to the present day. The family were employed as coal and ironstone miners in the extensive Borrowstoun and Carriden coalfields. The tartan is for use by immediate family members, relatives, or anyone linked to the family name, by direct descendancy or marriage, at home or overseas.
Woven Sample: A woven sample of this tartan has been received by the Scottish Register of Tartans for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
