Registration notes: The tartan is one of four signature tartans from Acme Atelier intended to represent the four seasons, highlighting the sites and stories within Moray. Created to represent Winter, this tartan was inspired by the colours seen on the avenue of trees in Grant Park, Forres, where the Atelier is based. The park was gifted to the town by one of its most famous sons, Sir Alexander Grant, a local baker who later invented the digestive biscuit. The ground of burgundy, umber and red are intended to represent the damp bark on which these rare species of lichens and moss grow; shown in sage, blue and bright yellow whilst sitting between them is a fine line of light brown to represent a crumb line from a biscuit.
