Sign Up - Creating a User Account with the Scottish Register of Tartans

While you can search the Register without having to create a User Account, you will need to create an account to:

	Register new tartan designs;
	Request official amendments to tartan designs that you have registered;
	Request threadcount information;
	Receive notification of all new registered tartan designs and other news updates;
	Manage your account details.

Usernames and passwords

Usernames must be between 6 and 30 characters long, and can contain upper and lower case letters, digits and underscore characters. They can also contain dots and @ characters, allowing you to use your email address as a username if you wish. This will make it easier for you to remember it.

Passwords must meet the following requirements -

	At least one upper case letter
	At least one lower case letter
	At least one digit
	At least one special character from this list - ! " # $ % & '( ) * + , - . / : ; < > ? @ [ \ ] ^ _ ` { | } ~
	Be between 6 and 30 characters

It is good practice not to use the same password for different sites. We therefore recommend that you have a password that you use only for the Scottish Register of Tartans
