Tartan Details - Hanly

The information held within The Scottish Register of Tartans for the "Hanly" tartan is shown below.

Reference: 10027
Designer: Peter Hanly, Bushell Park, Saskatchewan, CA
Tartan date: 14/01/2009
Registration date: 15 May 2009
Category: Name
Restrictions: Yes. For use by all of the name.
The design was developed for weaving by House of Tartan.

Registration notes: Hanly, from the Gaelic O'hAinle, has its roots in Ireland, and as such there is no associated family tartan. Coming from Canada, and thus having no real connection to County Roscommon, Ireland (the area of Ireland where the name Hanly originates), the designer (Peter Hanly) decided to create a family tartan. The colours are based on the Hanly family coat of arms which is a green shield with a silver boar passant, between two silver arrows barways, the hooves, mane and arrowheads being of gold.
Information notes: To view woven sample, please request NAS6/O6/Oversize.
Woven Sample: A woven sample of this tartan has been received by the Scottish Register of Tartans for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
Registrant details: Mr Blair Urquhart, House of Tartan Ltd, 9-11, East High Street, Crieff, Perthshire, Scotland, PH7 3AF
