Registration notes: This tartan honours Celtic blood brought to “Genet of An Gwylvos” over four generations. The Clans Sutherland, Gillis, Geikie, the Cornish Hitchens and Irish Wilkinsons are all represented. Homage is paid to the nations of France and the United States, the original and current home of this Genet line, respectively. The black and white (sett as St Piran’s Cross) represent the Cornish, the blue represents the Scots and the green, the Irish. The three red stripes are the blood of these Celtic lands. The red, white and blue colours combine to represent France and the United States. The tartan uses a Sutherland pallet to honour the first Celtic blood brought to these Genets. An Gwylvos is the name of E R H Genet's home in Montana and is Cornish for "The Wilderness".
