Registration notes: The Scruffy Wallace tartan was designed by Scruffy Wallace and William (Rocky) Roeger of USA Kilts, Inc and is intended for anyone to wear. It was inspired by two tartans that Scruffy wears: the Sutherland Highlanders tartan (aka Black Watch Ancient) that Scruffy wore during his service in the Calgary Highlanders, a sister regiment of the Sutherland Highlanders, from 1987 through 1996 (10th Battalion, CEF); and by his family tartan, Wallace. The muted colour scheme was chosen to reflect the gritty reality of life on the road with his band.
Woven Sample: A woven sample of this tartan has been received by the Scottish Register of Tartans for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
