Restrictions: Yes. Intended for the exclusive use of members or affiliated members of Masonic Lodge Isandlwana or by written consent of the Lodge’s Grand Master sitting at that time.
This tartan may not be woven without the written consent of the designer or his heirs.


Registration notes: This tartan was designed by Will Carter, Staghorn Scottish Outfitting, Cape Town, for the Isandlwana Freemasons Lodge, named to commemorate the Battle of Isandlwana in present day Kwa-Zulu Natal, on 22nd January 1879. Colours: dark green represents the battlefield; the crossing of the two red stripes represents the mixing of the blood of the two armies (Zulu and British) during the Battle of Isandlwana; the yellow and blue stripes reflect The South Africa Medal; and emerald is associated with the Masonic Grand Lodge of South Africa.
Woven Sample: A woven sample of this tartan has been received by the Scottish Register of Tartans for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
