Registration notes:	The Sherlock Holmes tartan has been created to show his followers that a tartan has been designed in his name. The creator of Sherlock Holmes was Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who was born in Scotland with Irish ancestry, hence the blue and green in the tartan. The lighter blue with the brown edging represents the Reichenbach Falls in Switzerland, the gold strip to show that Sherlock Holmes was one of the leading detectives of London. The tartan will be used to sell merchandise worldwide to all his fans and Sherlock Holmes societies.

Woven Sample:	A woven sample of this tartan has been received by the Scottish Register of Tartans for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
