Registration notes: William Waddell and Chuck Penny designed this tartan for the City of Orillia, which shares its 150th Anniversary with the 150th Anniversary of Canadian Confederation and with the 40th Anniversary of the Orillia Scottish Festival. The basis of the tartan includes the official colours of the City of Orillia: blue for the lake and green for the abundant woodland. A broad yellow stripe signifies sunshine, as there is a common reference to Orillia as "The Sunshine City". The red and white bordering the yellow represent the colours of the Canadian Flag.
