The right to weave this tartan in any way belongs solely to the designer and his heirs and then only under written request from the Worshipful Master sitting at that time.
Registration notes: Lodge Royal Alfred No. 420 on the roll of the Grand Lodge of Scotland, was first formed in 1862 and granted its Royal Charter by H.R.H. Prince Alfred, 3rd Duke of Edinburgh in 1870. The blue celebrates its origins as a naval Lodge, the rich burgundy and gold are the colours of the aprons worn in Lodge and the green is for the Grand Lodge of Scotland. The black is symbolic of Africa.
