Registration notes: Paisley, a one-time global textile hub, birthplace of the Paisley Pattern, and historical home of world-class weaving and thread-making industries. Now, the home of a vibrant, thriving cultural scene, making an impression on the world once again. This tartan commemorates Paisley’s ambitions to be UK City of Culture 2021. Designed by Ken MacDonald of Houston Kiltmakers, in collaboration with designers Gail McMillan and Sarah Hill of Renfrewshire Council, the Buddies of Paisley tartan is a contemporary celebration of the town’s textile history in the vibrant colours of the Paisley 2021 campaign branding.
Woven Sample: A woven sample of this tartan has been received by the Scottish Register of Tartans for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
