Registration notes: The Ceide family from Girona has its origins in the Spanish region of Galicia. In the 1940s, after the Civil War, two members of the family moved to the Catalan province of Girona where they established two generations later. Some members of the family studied, lived and worked in Edinburgh and since then, have developed a close relationship with the city and with Scotland. Colours: the blues represent the Scottish and Galician flags as well as the sky and the sea; the four red lines represent the Catalan flag whilst black and white appear as extremes to the evolution from clear blues to darker blues.
Woven Sample: A woven sample of this tartan has been received by the Scottish Register of Tartans for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
