Registration notes:	Allen Associates are a Scottish process design engineering company specialising in the delivery of projects across the distilling sector in both Scotland and internationally. They have worked with many of Scotland’s biggest brands. Towards the end of 2017 Allen Associates approached Glowfish Creative to create an Allen Associates tartan that both connected them with the industry and reflected their commitment to the sector. Their visits to many whisky distilleries made them realise that there are certain sights, colours and smells that link them all. However, it was always the distinctive copper stills which captured their imagination and being synonymous with Scotch whisky, their design uses a copper coloured thread as part of the weave. The overall theme of the tartan is dark grey to reflect the dark rainclouds that deliver the water from which, in part, all whisky is born. The design features fine lines of copper and orange threads to suggest the process of distilling the whisky we know and love. Allen Associates worked closely with Ken MacDonald at Houston Kiltmakers to develop the design and liaise with the weavers to incorporate a copper coloured metallic lurex thread.
