Registration notes: Karen Blessington, one of the owners of the Ravack Estate, and Margaret Grant, designed a tartan for Grantown East, which pays homage to the beautiful scenery of the Highlands, the Grantown East station building, which is located on the Ravack Estate, and the railway. Purple for the lovely heather adorning the landscape. Green for the trees providing a habitat for the abundant wildlife in the area. Blue and white for their railway logo. Plum for the colourful windows in the Grantown East railway station building. Black lines for the railway track that transported thousands of people during its 105 years life before being closed to the last passengers on 2nd November 1968.
