Registration notes: This tartan was created to commemorate the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath in the year 1320, generally believed to have been written by Abbot Bernard. Hence the name of the tartan. Colours: blue to represent the colour contained in the national flag of Scotland; green for the grass on which the Declaration was signed; red for the blood spilled prior to the Declaration being signed; yellow to represent the sun; white to represent hope.
Information notes: A sample of this tartan printed on fabric has been received by the Scottish Register of Tartans for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
