Registration notes: The Savoy Theatre located in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, is known as Cape Breton’s showcase masterpiece for entertainment, both local and from all around the world, since it opened in 1927. The colours represent the theatre: red, grey and white for inside the theatre which has stood the test of time; black and grey for a time when Glace Bay thrived as a vibrant mining town; yellow represents all the talented artists that have gone through the doors and crossed the stage over the years; white tells of the mysterious legend surrounding the ghost of the Savoy Theatre; red also represents the passion that the people of Cape Breton have for the Savoy Theatre and its success as Cape Breton’s Showcase Masterpiece.
