Registration notes: Tarleton State University was founded in 1899 and recently celebrated its centennial as a founding member of the Texas A&M University System. This tartan was designed to celebrate their history, traditions and spirit. The tartan's traditional pattern, named "Ever Forward, Ever Onward" to honor the Tarleton fight song, is a nod to the school's rich history and vibrant future as it moves closer to becoming the premier student-focused university in Texas and beyond. The six white crossing lines on the purple field represent the university's core values: tradition, integrity, civility, excellence, leadership and service.
