Registration notes: The Ranjit Gill tartan incorporates a host of colours and elements of great significance to the family with red, blue, white, orange and gold marking the family’s Punjabi, Kenyan, American and Welsh heritages. To commemorate the 1986 wedding of Ranjit Gill and his Welsh wife Nona, the royal blue bands have 86 threads. The five faint lines on that blue represent a musical score and are for their children’s love of music and a reminder of the Five Ks of the Khalsa Sikhs.
