Registration notes: The Royal Navy (Official) Tartan celebrates all past and present personnel and achievements attached to the Royal Navy since its formation. The history of the United Kingdom is the history of the Royal Navy. As an island nation the sea has always been a vital factor, it is the means of people arriving from overseas, a barrier to invaders and a highway for trade. The Royal Navy has transformed from wood to steel in successfully protecting our nation’s interests with pride. The dark navy blue of this tartan represents the Royal Navy Uniform; gold reflects the embroidery of the Royal Navy Head-dress; white as is featured in many elements of the Royal Navy Uniform; light Blue depicting the colourings of the famous striped style of the Middy Top and black is for continual respect for all fallen Royal Navy comrades.
