Registration notes: A tartan for the Orange County Law Enforcement Emerald Society (OCLEES). Colours: orange represents both Irish saffron kilts and Orange County, California; black represents the men and women who have lost their lives in the line of duty; dark blue represents 'the thin blue line', a colloquial term for law enforcement officers; yellow and grey represent the gold and silver badges that officers wear; green was included to represent Emerald Societies and Irish-Americans. The wide black sections represent the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre; each bar contains 36 threads for a total of 72, the number of law enforcement officers who died on November 11th 2001.
