Registration notes: This tartan was created by the students taking the course of "Seminar in Collaboration for a Local Community" in 2020 at Kobe Shoin Women's University, a part of Shoin Joshi Gakuin Educational Corporation, for the purpose of celebrating the 130th anniversary of their corporation in 2022. The colours are intended to represent the history of Shoin Joshi Gakuin Educational Corporation founded in 1892 in Kobe, Japan: blue and white are from the school uniforms; red is for the embroidery of S.M.S (Shoin Mission School) featured on the uniform; light red and green represent the school building of the university against the backdrop of the Rokko Mountains since 1982 and green represents the three pine trees, the origin of the name of "Shoin", which used to stand as a symbol in the schoolyard of the original school.
Woven Sample: A woven sample of this tartan has been received by the Scottish Register of Tartans for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
