Registration notes: This tartan was designed for Parkhill House in Rattray, Blairgowrie, to commemorate laying the cornerstone on Wednesday 22 September 1886, and the start of extensive renovations and conversion back to a family home on 21 December 2019. Colours: the sandstone brown of the tartan represents the material of the house; the greens represent the land surrounding it and the history as an agricultural estate since 1642, as well as the house’s green slate roof; the purple of a thistle is intended to represent the estate’s proud Scottish heritage, also celebrated with thistle finials adorning the roof.
