Restrictions: Yes. Designed by Steven Patrick Sim, the Tartan Artisan®, with copyright being privately owned. The tartan is available freely for use within the community, to be enjoyed, but please contact the designer for all weaving, tailoring and commercial use at: [email protected].
Registration notes: This tartan was designed for Parkhill House in Rattray, Blairgowrie, to commemorate laying the cornerstone on Wednesday 22 September 1886, and the start of extensive renovations and conversion back to a family home on 21 December 2019. Colours: the sandstone brown of the tartan represents the material of the house; the greens represent the land surrounding it and the history as an agricultural estate since 1642, as well as the house’s green slate roof; the purple of a thistle is intended to represent the estate’s proud Scottish heritage, also celebrated with thistle finials adorning the roof.
