Registration notes:	Moss Cottage - taigh a’bheiceir (the baker’s house) - was built in the 1840s & 1850s in Ness on the Isle of Lewis, and is reputed to be the 2nd oldest building there. It has served as a home, a bake house, a shop-keep, and now it has been restored is able to serve more generations as a home once again. The stone house was a shell of its former self when purchased in 2016 by Kenneth and Grace Mackenzie and their love & devotion to the property brought it back to life as a modern home. The tartan is intended to represent the beauty of the locale and the cottage; the white house and black roof stands out against the moss green of the surrounding countryside, the green and blue of the surrounding sea, and the red is intended to represent the blood and passion of those involved in the restoration of Moss Cottage.
