Registration date: 18 May 2022
Category: Name
Restrictions: Yes. Intended to be worn by members of the family and their descendants.

Registration notes: This tartan was created for the Lowe family in honour of their grandparents John and Ethel Lowe. John married Ethel (Best) on May 18th, 1918. They farmed near Carleton Place Ontario, at Scotch Corners raising a family of 5 daughters and 4 sons. Their descendants bonded to record this history in a unique manner and designed this tartan to represent that shared bond and history. Colours: dark green represents the family’s Irish heritage; red represents Canada; white is in memory of John and Ethel's life together; blue honours their sons and the light green, white and yellow section is intended to symbolise a white Irish rose and the trillium of Ontario flowers for their daughters. The family was gifted with musical talent which continues through the generations and this is symbolised by light grey lines for instrument strings.
