Registration notes: In 2019, Wave Weir began making plans to establish a spinning and weaving mill in the Township of McKellar, established in 1873 and situated in Northern Ontario. To launch the creation of a new mill in McKellar, Weir commissioned the McKellar 150 Celebration tartan. The design uses natural colours inspired by those of the alpaca. The tartan will be part of the McKellar 150th Community Celebrations and was supported by Council of the Township of McKellar.
Woven Sample: A woven sample of this tartan has been received by the Scottish Register of Tartans for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
