Registration notes:	A tartan for the University of Lynchburg, Virginia, United States. It was created to honour the University’s 11th president, Dr. Alison Morrison-Shetlar. The colours are intended to represent the university and its history: red and its location at the heart of the tartan, is intended to represent the students, faculty, and staff; Green is from Clan Morrison’s tartan; grey is intended to be symbolic of the University’s eight pillars and C.L. Snidow, former board of trustees chair and chapel namesake; dark blue represents the dedication of founders Josephus and Sarah Hopwood to the principles of faith and reason on which they began Virginia Christian College (now University of Lynchburg) in 1903; black is intended to represent commitment to civic, professional, and spiritual leadership, which students take into the world and blue is intended to represent the University’s location at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
