Registration notes: The tartan of Phi Delta Theta International fraternity was commissioned in 2023 to honour the 175th anniversary of the founding of the fraternity at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Colours: the blue ground is intended to represent the brotherhood of Phi Delta Theta; dark grey represents the sword and shield on the fraternity's coat of arms; white and blue are intended to represent the fraternity’s commitment to the three cardinal principles - friendship, sound learning, and rectitude and finally light grey, representing silver, is intended to be for the Bond of Phi Delta Theta, the foundation and governing document of the Fraternity.
