Registration notes: This tartan was designed to celebrate Nadia Alexander’s 40th Birthday. Every aspect of the design and woven cloth incorporates elements that are of personal significance. The thread count is made up of numbers that are meaningful to Nadia and her family and the colours are intended to reflect her personal style and career. This tartan, marketed as the Nadia Alexander 1984 tartan, is part of a wider project - From Flock to Frock - whereby Nadia used the wool from her own flock of sheep on the family farm in Perthshire, had it spun and dyed then woven into a tartan and transformed into tailored garments by her team at Alexander Manufacturing in Cumbernauld.
