Registration date:	This tartan was recorded prior to the launch of The Scottish Register of Tartans.

Restrictions:	Yes. A corporate tartan for Kingbarns Golf Links.
Registration notes:	The design is based on the Erskine tartan, because the land was owned by the Erskine family. Parallel lines have been taken from the Earl of St Andrews tartan because of the association with The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews. The predominant colour is blue because the uniform belonging to the original Kingsbarns Golfing Society founded in 1793 was “Blue Jackets”. As a Links Course, blue sea is significant, together with the yellow sand and the colour red relates to the red found in the Duke of Fife tartan.

Woven Sample:	A woven sample of this tartan has been received by the Scottish Register of Tartans for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
