Registration notes:	Count from the main setting of an old plaid from Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Viewed in 1997 by Peter MacDonald and thought to have been woven - probably in Scotland - between 1750 and 1885. The interesting aspect is that these are two offset pieces of cloth 26.5 inches wide by 134.5 inches long with a 5 inch fringe which are joined at the pivot edge. The pattern contains single full repeat roughly 13 inches wide plus an elaborate border sett approximately 13.5 inches wide that features on all four edges of the finished piece.
