Registration notes: Designed by Leah Robertson of Lochcarron of Scotland for the Jedburgh branch of the New England based L.S. Starrett Comapny who employ 2,000 people in manufacturing precision tools, gauges, measuring instruments and saw blades for industrial, professional and consumer markets worldwide. Founded in 1880, Starrett is the last remaining full-line precision tool company to be manufacturing its products within the U.S.A. The design is based on Starrett's corporate colours of orange and yellow overlayed with black and grey, symbolising the company's stock-in-trade of technical drawings and steel tools.

The registration criteria now applied by the Register conforms to the Scottish Register of Tartans Act 2008. These criteria are different to those previously applied by either the STA or the STWR. You may wish to refer to the STA website for further information on the original recording of this tartan.
