Registration notes:	The tradition of wearing the Cilt in Wales (spelt with a ‘C’ as there is no K in the Welsh language) is more of a recent thing and while seen as commercial, has grown massively in popularity since being introduced by Wales Tartan Centres circa 1998. As with many tartans today, their inclusion in this index does not confer upon them historical or genealogical credibility and the use of the words 'of Wales' is not of conventional territorial significance but is purely to identify the source and confirm the origin of the design. Designed for Wales Tartan Centres by Sheila Daniel of Cambrian Woollen Mill, Powys (now sadly closed). They're unusual to other Celtic tartans in that almost all of them incorporate odd numbered threads and have quite different warp & weft, both in thread numbers and sometimes colours.
Information notes:	This tartan was recorded prior to the Scottish Register of Tartans’ inception and the different warp and weft threadcount for this tartan would not now be accepted for registration.
