Registration notes: The Halcrow Howell tartan was developed using a combination of three popular Scottish Tartans. As a starting point for the design, the sett of the Douglas and the distinctive blue from the Anderson tartan were combined with elements of the Morrison tartan. The tartan was created to represent the Howell and Halcrow families. The Howell family have ancestral roots in the Anderson clan and the Halcrows are descended from Morrisons on Lewis and Halcrows from Orkney.
Woven Sample: A woven sample of this tartan has been received by the Scottish Register of Tartans for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
