Registration notes: This tartan is based on the Redgate (Connecticut) tartan (STR #10775). According to the Ulster Historical Foundation and Ulster-Scots Agency, the Redgate surname migrated to Ulster from Scotland between 1606 and 1641. Blue represents the Scottish ancestry; brown represents Boernician ties to Scotland; red represents their connection to Ulster; green represents their link to Ireland; black represents the Irish potato famine; and white represents future Redgate generations. Anyone with the same name is welcome to wear this tartan.
Woven Sample: A woven sample of this tartan has been received by the Scottish Register of Tartans for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
