Registration notes: Designed for the First Special Service Force Association and the Pipes & Drums of the Black Devils (formally the Shining Thistle Pipe Band) to honour the veterans of the First Special Service Force (FSSF). The FSSF was an American-Canadian commando unit formed in 1942 and disbanded in December 1944. The colours in the tartan are taken from the American and Canadian flags and elements of their uniforms.
