Registration notes: This personal tartan for William Hynett OBE is based on the Clan Gordon, whose ancestral home later became Gordonstoun, the school which he attended. The surrounding area has a number of strong family ties. The colours represent those of the flag of the United Kingdom, which William has served both locally in Grampian and more broadly through the Royal Navy. The colours of the flag of Chile are also represented to denote continuing maternal family links. Finally, the centre element of light blue and pink is to represent his great pride in his two children.
