Tartan date: 17/08/2016
Registration date: 9 September 2016

Registration notes: A fashion tartan designed with inspiration drawn from the landscape of the Outer Hebrides from Barra to the Butt of Lewis. The green with black overcheck is similar to the Morrison Hunting (a clan from the north of Lewis) and also represents the black peat cuttings through the green moors. The blue with white overcheck is similar to the Macneil of Barra and also represents the blue seas with white crests on the waves that surround the islands. The purple and rusty brown checks represent the other colours of the moors - the russets of autumnal bracken and grasses and purples of the summer heathers, thistles and wild thymes.
Woven Sample: A woven sample of this tartan has been received by the Scottish Register of Tartans for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
