Tartan date: 14/10/2016
Registration date: 7 February 2017

Registration notes: A tartan for Kinokuni Children’s Village School in Japan founded in 1992 and which celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2017. It was inspired by the philosophy of Scottish educators, A S Neill of Summerhill School in Norfork and John Aitkenhead of Kilquhanity House School near Dumfries, the core of which was ‘to make children happy.’ Colours: the two green are from the school emblem; blue is from the McNeil of Barra tartan, said to have been worn by John Aitkenhead in his everyday life; white and yellow are added as an attractive accent. The tartan will be used for school goods.
