Tartan Details - HMS Forth

The information held within The Scottish Register of Tartans for the "HMS Forth" tartan is shown below.

Reference: 11746
Designer: Johnstone-Burt, Rachel
Tartan date: 03/03/2017
Registration date: 15 March 2017
Category: Other
Restrictions: Yes. To be used by the ship's company and anyone associated with her.

Registration notes: First Sea Lord, Admiral Sir George Zambellas asked Rachel Johnstone-Burt to be the sponsor of the first of the new River Class vessels, HMS Forth, commissioned by the Royal Navy and due to come into service later in 2017. As the ship's sponsor, it is expected that a gift is given to the ship and as HMS Forth was built in Scotland by a Scottish workforce, it was felt appropriate that it should bear the name of a Scottish river. The designer felt that the gift should be Scottish and that HMS Forth having her own tartan would be an appropriate gift for her and her future ship's companies.
Woven Sample: A woven sample of this tartan has been received by the Scottish Register of Tartans for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
Registrant details: Mr Blair Urquhart, House of Tartan Ltd, 9-11, East High Street, Crieff, Perthshire, Scotland, PH7 3AF
