Registration notes: Dockside Living - The 1000 Islands Shoppe, situated within The Tall Ships Landing Coastal Resort, Brockville, Ontario, Canada, commissioned this design to honour the majestic tall ships and has now become the home of the official “Tall Ships” tartan. Colours: Almalfi navy evokes the romance of the sea and sky with the freedom to explore; scholar green embodies the pioneer spirit of adventure and discovery; red damask is reminiscent of the demanding and rewarding experiences that build courage and leadership; golden yellow of the rope detail symbolises the time honoured traditions inherent in the age of sail. A tartan was chosen as Scottish tartans are a symbol of clan kinship, a great representation of the bonds of fellowship created through seamanship amongst the crew of a tall ship. A traditional and timeless design, much like the tall ship. A classic tartan to encapsulate the spirit of a sailor.
Woven Sample: A woven sample of this tartan has been received by the Scottish Register of Tartans for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
