Registration notes: The name of this tartan was inspired by the term Süd Heide meaning Southern Heather. The colours selected were of significance to Gerald Friedebold, one of the tartan designers, and includes grey to represent the rock and stones on the Scottish islands.
Woven Sample: A woven sample of this tartan has been received by the Scottish Register of Tartans for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
