Registration notes: This tartan celebrates the 10th year for Kinnaird Primary School (KPS), a non-denominational school in Kinnaird Village, Larbert, Stirlingshire as a lasting legacy for current, past & future pupils. KPS was established in August 2007 to serve the existing ‘Inches’ housing development and planned building. The new school was formally opened on Friday 16th May 2008. A fashion show held in September 2007 showcased the suggested colour options. Pupils and parents cast their votes and the winning colours were: purple, jade green, black, blue and white. Pupils took inspiration from the Pride of Scotland tartan, but incorporated the winning colours in the new KPS tartan; now named ‘Pride of Kinnaird’. Mrs Shirley Anne Smillie of Border Embroideries collaborated with Ms Laura McLintock, (Depute Headteacher, KPS from 2007 to 2014) to create a unique design. Mrs Pamela Adamson (Headteacher, KPS from 2007 to 2016) gave support. On 9th January 2008, the pupils were piped into their new school by Miss Sarah MacNeil, wearing the new school uniform. All pupils now proudly wear this tartan to show they are part of the family of KPS.
