Registration notes: This tartan was designed by Betty Smith, a resident weaver on Jekyll Island, which is a 9 by 2 mile barrier island off the Georgia Coast in the Atlantic Ocean. The island is home for some 650 residents. Betty designed this tartan to reflect life on Jekyll. The light blue represents the sky and water, surrounded by white clouds and surf. The light yellow for the bright sun. Light green for the canopy from the 100-300 year old live oak trees shading the land. The black represents the trunks of the trees. The design is simple, as is the life on Jekyll.
