Registration notes: The Bergslagen flag tartan is named after the mining area in central Sweden. The colours of the tartan are taken from the unofficial flag for the area: black for iron ore; green for forests; orange for fire; blue for water and yellow for farming. Key numbers make up the design of the tartan signifying historical events and dates; 1434 the year of Engelbrecht's rebellion against the king Erik of Pomerania; 1444 the first time the word "bergslag" was used; 1907 the year the blast furnace in Löa was laid down and 2006 the year the flag of the Bergslag became a registered Swedish trademark.
