Registration notes: The Tartan was initially developed in the mid 1960s for the Town of Kirkland Lake to commemorate its 50th Anniversary in 1969. The Designer, Bob Price, [d. Dec 2017] was the Town Councillor from 1968 to 1975. Since its development the Tartan has been utilised by the Town, with Town Councillors sporting matching Tartan Blazers. Colours: green for the northern forests; blue for the northern lakes; red for northern sunsets; white for snow; yellow for the precious metal gold which was the beginning of Kirkland Lake.
