Registration notes: The University of Glasgow commissioned the University of Glasgow & Nankai University Tartan as a gift to partner institution Nankai University in recognition of its centenary celebrations in 2019. The tartan represents the colours of the Chinese flag, the Scottish flag, the purple of the Nankai University logo and the distinctive colours represented in the University of Glasgow's coat of arms, symbolising the key elements of the two institutions combined.
