Tartan Details - Green, F R & Family (Personal)

The information held within The Scottish Register of Tartans for the "Green, F R & Family (Personal)" tartan is shown below.

Reference: 13069
Designer: Green, K J
Tartan date: 22/03/2020
Registration date: 16 February 2021
Category: Name
Restrictions: Yes. Intended to be worn by descendants of the late Frederick Robert Green and their direct family line.

Registration notes: This tartan was designed to honour Frederick Robert Green and the family’s British and military heritage. Frederick Robert Green served in the military at a young age, and in later life he joined as a bandsmen for the Sutherland Pipes and Drums. The colours are of personal significance: green, in particular, was included to honour the family’s ancestors; red was also included to commemorate 'The Thin Red Line' where the Scottish artist Robert Gibb’s celebrated painting depicts the 93rd Highlanders halting a Russian cavalry charge at the Battle of Balaclava during the Crimean War in 1854. The tartan is intended to be used by future generations of the family to connect them to their heritage.
