Registration notes: A dress tartan for Marc Holliday and his family. The design is intended to honour his 3rd Great Grandfather William Holliday and his wife Diannah Hudson Holliday. The colours are intended to represent the family farm: the reds represent the strawberries grown on the farm; green represents the strawberry leaves; the blues represent the waters of lake Ontario and white represents the heavy snowfall that buried the strawberry fields during winter. The purple shade created from the blending of blue and red is intended to represent the coming of night when runaway slaves came out from the caves located on the bluffs of Lake Ontario where William Holliday would hide them before helping them to be ferried across Lake Ontario to Canada.
