Registration notes: A family tartan for the newly formed Smith Fehsenfeld family and their descendants. This tartan is intended to be a celebration of both Scottish and New Zealand culture; green representing flora of the New Zealand landscape epitomised by the fern which symbolises new life, growth, strength and peace whilst the purple represents the thistle and heather of Scotland, denoting bravery, courage and loyalty.
Woven Sample: A woven sample of this tartan has been received by the Scottish Register of Tartans for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
