Registration notes: The colours for the Glasgow Golf Club tartan are based on the colours from the club’s tie. Glasgow Golf Club is one of the oldest golf clubs in the world and the tie was commissioned for the Bicentenary celebrations of the club in 1987. The club was originally formed at Glasgow Green, then moved to Alexandra Park, where the members wore red and black caps to distinguish themselves from other players. The green from the tie was introduced to represent the fairways and the blue represents the River Kelvin which meanders alongside the Glasgow course.
